Sometimes it feels like we sit in the corner. A corner for Mommies. What did we do to deserve to be in the corner? How long will we be hidden away here? Is it a minute for each year of our age?
It's in the corner behind the scenes we labor, in the nursery, in the kitchen, in the laundry room. Sometimes it can feel like punishment. But, remember what you do when the crowd gets large and you want to speak to your child. You pull them to the corner. You separate them from the distractions and the noise, and you look them in the eye. You speak softly and just for them to hear.
Sometimes it is words of instruction or discipline perhaps not fun to hear in the moment, but training for a better future and safety from harm. Sometimes it's words of comfort and healing after they have been hurt by words and actions of others or a tumble from a bike. Sometimes it's words of praise and a surprise waiting for them in the other room or instruction of something they can do to bless their company. It is always time alone a midst the crowd. It's a quiet moment in the middle of the noise. It's a moment together without the rest.
So, remember next time you feel like you're in the corner... your Father may have brought you there for a moment alone with Him.
