I remember the days when my brothers and I would fight over who had to do dishes. Now I don't mind doing them and even prefer dish duty to other chores most times. What made the switch? Part of it probably has to do with the fact that I grew up and am doing my own dishes and enjoy my own clean kitchen when they are done. I also remember something someone said one time that changed the way I approached dishes soon after I got married. She said she made it a special time for her and the Lord. She'd light a candle, turn on worship and invite the Holy Spirit to come and be with her. Before long she couldn't wait for the time when she could step up to the sink, plunge her hands deep in soapy water and meet with God. Try it. It works. Maybe I should try this when it's time to go through clothes at the switch of a season. This is always a big, stressful job for me with six kids under 11. ;-)
