Every year, new challenges arrive. If I'm honest there's new challenges every single day, but I'm talking about major space challenges right now. It takes creative organization to homeschool 6 children in a 1400 sqft house. We do not have a garage or a dry basement. And my husband owns his own business which adds more space challenges to fit his equipment.
Certainly there are families who do with far less than what we have, or far more children, and I'm not trying to complain. Neither will I say we don't have struggles. I am forever thankful when God opens our eyes to new possibilities.
As we geared up for a new school year, space for more bookshelves was a definite need. I also was really hoping for a place to put a white board. We don't "lecture" often, but there are times it is nice to be able to explain something on a board. I am very visual and some of my children are as well.
Unfortunately, there weren't any wall spaces left. Especially any with seating that could see a white board.
And a permanent space for our laptops was the other need. For too long we had allowed people to move the computers here and there to comfy chairs. The computers had taken unnecessary beatings that rendered one of them unfixable. I had a spot for a computer station, but I hadn't come across the perfect size table to fit it.
Once again, God came through. He provided 3 new bookshelves with ideas of where to put them. He opened up a wall with tiered seating! And he reminded me that I could build a desk to fit the corner myself, and that there was wood already in the shed that was unclaimed that would work for my project.
"Call to me and i will answer."
